Tags & Segmentation
Tags are custom labels you can apply to people for organization, filtering, and targeted communication.
Creating Tags
Go to Settings > Tags to create and manage tags. Each tag has:
- Name — e.g., "Volunteer", "New Visitor", "Baptism Candidate"
- Color — For visual identification in the directory
- Category (optional) — Group related tags together
Applying Tags
Tags can be applied to people in two ways:
- Individual — Open a person's profile and add tags
- Bulk — Select multiple people in the directory, then click Add Tags
Common Tag Examples

| New Visitor | Track first-time visitors for follow-up |
| Volunteer | Identify active volunteers |
| Baptism Candidate | Track people preparing for baptism |
| Small Group Leader | Identify group leaders |
| Needs Follow-up | Flag people requiring pastoral attention |
| VBS 2026 | Track participants in a specific event |
Filtering by Tags
In the people directory, use the tag filter to view all people with a specific tag. You can combine multiple tags with AND/OR logic.
Bulk Operations
Tags enable bulk operations:
- Send an email to all people with a specific tag
- Export a filtered list to CSV
- Add all tagged people to a group
