Groups
Small Groups
Small groups are the primary way churches build community. Holy makes it easy to create, manage, and track small groups.
Creating a Small Group
- Navigate to Groups > Create Group
- Select type: Small Group
- Fill in the details:

| Name | Group name (e.g., "Thursday Night Bible Study") |
| Description | What the group is about |
| Campus | Which campus this group belongs to |
| Ministry | Parent ministry (optional) |
| Leader | Primary group leader |
| Meeting Day | Day of the week the group meets |
| Meeting Time | Start time |
| Location | Where the group meets |
| Capacity | Maximum number of members (optional) |
Group Dashboard
Each group has a dashboard showing:
- Current member count and capacity
- Recent attendance trends
- Upcoming meeting dates
- Group leader contact info
Group Communication
Group leaders can communicate with members through:
- Group Email — Send an email to all group members
- Announcements — Post announcements visible on the group page
Group Lifecycle
Groups can have the following statuses:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Currently meeting and accepting members |
| Paused | Temporarily not meeting (e.g., summer break) |
| Closed | No longer active, preserved for historical data |
